Michael Cormican: YOUR Voice for Lethbridge: Getting Election-Ready

Who is Michael?

Michael Cormican has been a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and the Mental Health Programs Contracts Coordinator for the Chinook Health Region.

Mr. Cormican’s active involvement with organizations addressing health, youth, aboriginal peoples, affordable housing, poverty and low income in our community has provided him a better understanding people’s situations and needs.

His community involvement has included volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Social Housing in Action, Aboriginal Housing in Action, Medicine Tree Centre (Sik-Ooh-Kotoki Friendship Centre), Southwest Alberta Coalition on Poverty, Knights of Columbus and many other local organizations.

Mr. Cormican is committed to: encouraging economic diversity; wise management of our environment and resources, including water conservation; passionately defending and improving our publicly-funded health care system; creating opportunities for individuals; enhancing living conditions and employment opportunities especially for Aboriginal people; developing a climate that encourages programs and incentives that facilitates skills development and increases availability of skilled people; fiscal practicality, effective and accountable government; real representation of people and their issues/concerns; and ensuring Canada regains and maintains its leadership role in the world

Born in Ireland in 1948, Mr. Cormican has been a proud Canadian citizen for 30 years. He and his wife Gloria have been married for almost 35 years. They are proud parents of four adult children.
